WONDERING…

Today I think i made a new friend.

We had met before but i think today brought us closer together

simply by us going for a church service together.

my friend heard a testimony on the internet

and this Led her closer to Christ.

She has a new found strong belief in Jesus,That he died  to save us,In His ability to take care of us,

answer our prayers,forgive us.

This revelation led me to really examine myself and

wonder why  the fire/passion I had as a new Christian

some years ago seems to have fizzled out..

It is so easy to talk about so many different kinds of things

but how many times do we take time to tell others,our friends,

people we interact with on a daily basis

about the great things God has done and is doing in our lives?

People are willing to die for their faith,

when push comes to shove,would I  be?would  you be?

BESTEST

Have you actually given the best you can

at a given time

or been the best YOU you could have been in the past..

are you striving to be the best you can be now and in the future…

Thats all anyone could ask of you..

giving any less than your best is

denying yourself of so much…

Tired of  just being average because I can..

so I’m really hoping that from today

I will be the best me I can be and

observe if Life will prove to be more fulfilling..

Do not let the smallness of your vision

limit the greatness of God.

But do I see me?

I’m one of those people who finds it hard to take a compliment

I will either think you are b*sing me

or try and play it down by pointing out something that’s wrong

modesty or a weakness I don’t know..

I have learnt to give a compliment only

when i mean it or keep my mouth shut

I believe someone can always tell when you are pulling their leg

so why try…

but then again maybe other people are just like me

and question my intentions

You  know how you can look in the mirror and feel you look

hot ,then you go somewhere and someone disses ur outfit

or points out something that they think you should have done better?

and you laugh it off but really start to doubt yourself

or you go somewhere and decide to not make an effort

and just wear something simple then you go and find everryone all dolled

up and

you are filled with regret because you know you could have looked blazing hot if you wanted,

Now, you feel like the unprettiest girl in the world?

You know how you can feel Embarrased about knowing something others don’t know,

or coming first in a test/competition,

having dressed up the most not that we are comparing,

basically embarrased about being the best you at a particular place/time?

I say,

none of that..not that I advocate for blowing one’s own trumpet

but one shouldn’t feel bad when another acknowledges a good thing in them…

She will chase you around for a while;

but theres going to be a day when she’s gonna stop running in circles around you.

I could remember with such determination

the course content or material required

to excel in exams or assignments

as I do the

numerous episodes of a  myriad

of series that I currently keep abreast with…

I could muster up the energy and excitement

on a sunday morning to go to church,

after a busy saturday afternoon

and night of festivities

that I had As I got all dressed up

rearing to go and paint the town yellow…

I could forgive others as quickly

as I let things slide

time and again when u let me down

after saying you wouldn’t.

I didn’t care what people thought of me

as much as I would encourage any of my loved ones to

GAME OR IS IT?

been thinking lately about whether in certain situations

we tend to read the writing on the wall

when there actually isn’t anything written on the wall.

SCENE A.

Face lights up as boy meets girl through a common friend.

Boy gives that “I’m Interested” look

The three (or more) have a conversation and everything seems to have gone well.

A few meetings later

After probably 2 or more “bump-into-each-other’s”

at a common joint,

Totally ignoring….

boy pretends not to remember meeting girl…

when “forced” to say hello due to a common friend

Now is this just ‘game’ or is it really possible for someone

not to remember meeting you after more than 2 interactions?

SCENE 2.

Boy and girl have a connection.

More often than not if simply friends,

Short message service responses are almost immediate

if not for a valid reason likely to be explained..

When there could be something else there…

Boy takes his sweet time responding

regardless of the content of the text

Girl feels guilty complaining

for fear of coming off as needy.

Girl is pissed off.

Girl moves on or rather appears to.

Boy responds with lame excuse if any

and continues conversation like all is gravy..

is it possible to be that clueless really?

SCENE 3.

Boy :hey, we should go for a  (insert movie/lunch/concert/bash/some sort of gathering)

next week

Girl: sounds cool (*hiding excitement*)

Girl:which would be better evening/weekend?

Boy: You decide

Girl: cool,weekend it is…

Week comes,

girl wonders whether the plan is still in order but doesnt want to be the one to ask.

Weekend comes,

girl gets dressed up just in case but boy does not contact her..

Over the weekend boy and girl happen to meet while out with friends

either

boy: You look nice,what’s the occasion

OR

boy:What happened? we were meant to meet up

After several attempts at hinting have failed miserably

girl:Oh yah…(not amused and pretending not to remember..)

Really???

What the *@!”$^ (beans) man??????!

if this is a Game

or Game as it is called,

I don’t want to play no more!

So in my cyberwalking,

I came across this quote on twitter

and it got me thinking

about how often a girl out there has asked

herself  ’what exactly does this particular guy find lacking in me?’

Everything started off well,

there seemed to be a connection,

all of a sudden, a guy goes cold turkey..

or finds another interest as fast as you can say

which brings me to the conclusion

that guys and girls actually do have particularly different ways of looking

at things.

More Often than not a girl often will either look for

looks,personality,security,Faith all together or separately ,depending;

every person is unique and thus different qualities,virtues,

or possessions appeal accordingly.

Time and again,

you may find  girl A picked

over  girl B who seemingly has all the qualities and more

that the guy in question is seeking.

But then again I read somewhere that guys always know

what they want as the outcome when they single out a girl and show interest..

either a fling,some thing long-term or just want to see how things will end up.

How true that is, is for you to decide..

I am not a guy and thus shall not generalize..

All in All,

changing oneself to suit another rarely does any good.

Only Solution I have come across that seems

to hit the spot is

Try to be the kind of person you would like to be with…

Practice what you preach,

if you want to meet someone who is

a looker,smart,responsible,caring,charming,hardworking,

wealthy,fun,energetic,considerate

try to be that kind of a person because maybe that is what the

person in question is also looking for.

Just my two cents…
